Leeds United

Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has suggested on Twitter that Leeds United were looking to sign Alex Fernandez from Cadiz in the summer transfer window.

Balague, who worked for Sky Sports for years and now works for BBC Sport among other media outlets, has stated that there was talk of Leeds signing the 27-year-old and wingers earlier in the summer transfer window.

However, according to the Spanish football expert, the Premier League club are not going to sign Fernandez, as they have agreed a deal with Rennes over the transfer of 23-year-old Brazilian winger Raphinha.

According to The Sun, Raphinha will fly to England today to complete a move to Leeds.

Arsenal

According to The London Evening Standard, Arsenal are now unlikely to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid or Houssem Aouar from Lyon.

The North London club have been interested in both the midfielders, but with the summer transfer window to close to close later today, it has been claimed that it is ‘unlikely’ that the Gunners will be able to do a deal for ether player.
