Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after German outlet Bild revealed that Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in Jerome Boateng, as Bayern Munich decide not to renew his contract.

The Germany international sees his deal at the Allianz Arena end when the season comes to a close, and the Bundesliga champions do not wish to extend his nine-year stay any longer.

After joining the Bavarians from Manchester City in 2011, Boateng went on to become one of the best centre-backs in Europe.

The 32-year-old has made 333 appearances for the German giants, winning numerous titles during his time at the Allianz Arena.

Boateng has won two Champions Leagues, eight Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokal cups, and one FIFA Club World Cup among many more pieces of silverware.

The Berlin-born colossus has also lifted the World Cup during his time as a Bayern Munich player.

In terms of winning experience and know-how, there are few better players who Jose Mourinho could add to his squad.

Additionally, it’s not as if Boateng isn’t still a key player at the club.

So far this season under Hansi Flick, the German has made nine appearances in all competitions, scoring once.
