Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to call on Jurgen Klopp to use Kostas Tsimikas more often following the ever-growing injury crisis in the Reds’ backline.
The Premier League champions have recently lost Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold to injuries, while Virgil van Dijk suffered a serious injury of his own weeks ago.
Fabinho also suffered an injury while deputising in defence.
That leaves Klopp relying on Joel Matip and Andy Robertson as his senior options in defence.
Fearing a potential injury to the Scotland international, who is vital to Klopp’s high-pressing system, some fans want to see him rested in place of the Greece international.
Tsimikas was signed from Olympiacos back in the summer for £11.75 million, but he has only made two appearances in all competitions so far.
Those include a start against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup, and eight minutes against Atalanta in the Champions League.
Klopp is yet to use him in the Premier League.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss should definitely heed the supporters’ advice.
He is already facing a huge challenge without Van Dijk, Gomez, Fabinho or Alexander-Arnold, and quite simply cannot afford to lose Robertson.
