Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Thomas Partey would not be linking up with Ghana for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.
The defensive midfielder was set to take on Sudan on two occasions this month for his country, but unfortunately picked up a thigh injury in the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
As a result, the former Atletico Madrid man will be staying in north London as he recovers from the problem, which forced his substitution against the Villans.
This news appears to have delighted Arsenal fans on Twitter, and rightly so.
By keeping Partey at the club, the Gunners are able to monitor the 27-year-old’s injury and keep tabs on his progress.

If the £45 million man had jetted off with his country, then Mikel Arteta would be placing his big-money signing’s recovery chances in the hands of the Ghanaian national team, and therefore relying on them to help him.
It’s a much better situation for Arsenal to help him recover, rather than have Partey travelling around for two weeks and not being able to rest properly.

Let’s see what the Gunners fans on Twitter have been saying about the news…
