Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Thiago Alcantara has been omitted from Luis Enrique’s Spain squad.
The former Barcelona midfielder is seemingly still feeling the effects of Richarlison’s gruesome challenge from the Merseyside derby back in mid-October.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed today that his summer signing would miss the clash with Manchester City on Sunday, but it is an injury which thankfully doesn’t require surgery as The Liverpool Echo reported.
It is a real shame that the Champions League winner cannot yet return.
Liverpool fans have barely seen him since his £20 million move from Bayern Munich.
Thiago has only made two Premier League appearances since swapping the Allianz Arena for Anfield, which is a shame given his immense talent.
Liverpool seem to be doing okay without him, although we presume Klopp can’t wait to have him back.
The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League, and also top of their Champions League group having lost just two games so far this season.
However, we’re sure that supporters would rather see the 29-year-old back in action as soon as possible.
