Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Steven Davis following his performance in the 3-3 draw against Benfica.
Steven Gerrard’s side were in the driving seat in Portugal as goals from Alfredo Morelos and Glen Kamara – along with an own-goal from Diogo Gonçalves – gave the Gers a 3-1 lead.
Sadly, late goals from Rafa Silva and Darwin Nunez earned Benfica a point – their comeback was made to look worse on Rangers, as the Primeira Liga side also had ten men.
Despite the disappointment, Davis was superb and can hold his head high.
According to SofaScore, the former Southampton man had 110 touches of the ball, and also made 95 passes against Benfica.

Davis recorded a 94% pass success rate on the night.
Eight of those were accurate long-range passes, while the 35-year-old’s industrial side was also on show with three tackles and two interceptions to his name.
Davis also won both of his aerial duels, and won three ground duels.

Additionally, he only lost possession seven times, and also made one key pass.
It was a vintage display from the experienced Northern Irishman, and he certainly deserved to travel home to Ibrox as a winner.
Let’s see how the Rangers fans on Twitter reacted to his superb display…
