Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to react after Calciomercato revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo is eyeing AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese attacker – surprise, surprise – is being linked with a move to Molineux as a replacement for Diogo Jota.

Calciomercato say that Wolves pushed hard to sign Leao in the summer as a replacement for the Liverpool forward, but no move materialised.

The Italian news outlet also states that the 21-year-old is a client of Jorge Mendes, whose influence at Molineux has been well documented.

Calciomercato add that Leao is happy at the San Siro, and AC Milan believe he is one of the best young players in his position across Europe.

The Portugal Under-21 international is certainly enjoying a fine campaign so far.

Impressively, the £32 million forward has scored three goals while also assisting three more in eight appearances this season.

Leao has already netted half of his six-goal tally from last term, so the signs of improvement in the prospect’s game are evident.

If Wolves did sign him, then the Midlands-based club’s array of youngsters would be seriously impressive.

Nuno already has huge prodigies such as Fabio Silva, Pedro Neto and Ki-Jana Hoever in his ranks, to name a few.

Let’s see how the Wolves fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
