Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky Italia (via The Scottish Sun) revealed that Steven Gerrard remains keen on signing Sampdoria’s Jakub Jankto.
The Czech Republic international was in the Gers boss’ sights over the summer, and remains on his list of targets according to Sky Italia.
Jankto scored in Sampdoria’s derby against Genoa at the weekend, and he now has two goals in five Serie A outings this term along with one assist.
The 24-year-old has 27 caps for his country, and has netted three goals for the Czech Republic national team.
It would be a shock if the Italian outfit allowed Jankto to leave Serie A, seeing as it was only recently that they spent a significant sum on his services.

Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Sampdoria agreed a €15 million (£13.5 million) fee with Udinese for the midfielder back in the summer of 2018.
However, just over two years on from that window, Rangers could take him away from Italy if Gerrard’s interest is genuine.

Jankto’s arrival would add to the Bears’ midfield department, which already contains Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis, Joe Aribo, Scott Arfield and Bongani Zungu.
