According to Aftonbladet, Liverpool are tracking IFK Norrkoping prospect Isak Bergmann Johannesson.

The report states that the 17-year-old is in Jurgen Klopp’s sights, and that the Swedish outfit could sell him in January, although they aren’t in desperate need of cash.

You might not know much about the Icelandic teenager, so here are five facts about the midfielder who Liverpool are interesting in signing.

1. He’s also of interest to Manchester United and Juventus. Aftonbladet‘s report reveals that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sent scouts to watch Johannesson earlier this month, while representatives of the Italian champions have also come to watch.

2. He’s an assist machine. The Icelandic prodigy has notched an impressive ten assists so far this season, while he’s also got four goals.

3. Johannesson could still represent England. Despite earning two caps for Iceland’s Under-21 side, he is eligible to play for the Three Lions through his father, Joey Gudjonsson – formerly of Aston Villa, Wolves, Leicester, Burnley and Huddersfield.

4. The Liverpool target also has another famous footballing family member. Johannesson’s Grandad, Gudjon Thordarson, managed Stoke, Barnsley, Notts County and Crewe in the 1990’s and 2000’s.

5. He is a Manchester United fan. In an interview with Aftonbladet, the playmaker revealed his love for the Red Devils. That presumably won’t go down well amongst the Anfield faithful!
