Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was confirmed on the club’s official website that Charlie Patino had signed his first professional contract.
The 17-year-old is extremely highly-rated at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta has already got him training with the first-team, and this news is just another show of faith in the teenager.
Arsenal’s announcement reveals some interesting facts about the playmaker.
Patino captained England’s Under-16 side against Spain at the age of just 14, and made his Arsenal Under-18 debut against Chelsea in the same year.
He has played for a higher age group in every year of his development for Arsenal and England.

Patino was even included in The Guardian‘s Next Generation list, highlighting each Premier League club’s greatest prospect.
In that article, he was likened to Phil Foden and Jack Wilshere, while it was also stated that he is a generational talent with every chance of going the distance.

It should come as exciting news to the Arsenal supporters, who know all about the type of gem the Academy is capable of producing, such as Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.
The pair are bossing things in the first-team.
