Brighton and Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister has praised Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero.

Mac Allister is living the dream this season, shining in the Premier League with the Seagulls.

Add in a World Cup win with Argentina and Mac Allister is a star on the rise this year.

Mac Allister has nothing but love for the teammates who made that Argentina World Cup win possible.

That includes Tottenham defender Cristian Romero, who was a key man in the Argentina back line.

Mac Allister has now spoken to ESPN UK for TikTok, and was asked to describe a number of teammates with just one word.

When asked about Romero, Mac Allister simply called him ‘destroyer’ having witness his aggressive style of defending.

That’s a description many Tottenham fans would agree with, maybe so much so that they would actually like Romero to tone it down a little.

Tottenham unlikely to reunite Alexis Mac Allister and Cristian Romero

Mac Allister and Romero certainly know each other well and rumours have suggested that they could join forces in North London.

90Min claimed in April that Tottenham had registered an interest in signing Mac Allister this summer.

It was suggested that Brighton were seeking a fee of around £70million in order to sell the Argentinian.

That’s an enormous profit on the £7million Brighton paid to sign Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors back in 2019.

Mac Allister is the type of creative midfielder Tottenham are lacking but it’s unlikely we will see Tottenham splash £70million on him.

Not only is that price probably beyond Spurs anyway, but a move to Liverpool seems likely.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Liverpool’s move for Mac Allister was progressing well after talks with his camp.

Romero and Mac Allister look set to lock horns again next season rather than become teammates again, but you never know what could happen down the line.
