Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Lincoln City’s official site confirmed the signing of Robbie Gotts on a season-long loan from Elland Road.

The 20-year-old was always going to find it difficult to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team during the club’s maiden campaign back in the Premier League.

In that respect, a loan move for him to continue his development was vital, and Leeds have found a fantastic one for him by sending him to the League One outfit.

Gotts looks to have a good future ahead of him in football.

The Harrogate-born player won Leeds’ Academy Player of the Year award for his efforts last season, having made his senior debut in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal.

Gotts also earned an appearance against Hull City in the Carabao Cup this season, which was his one and only first-team outing before heading to Lincoln City.

Judging by the responses to Lincoln City’s announcement, Leeds supporters have high hopes for the midfielder who has made just three first-team appearances in total.

Gotts could make his debut in Saturday’s meeting with Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town, and hopefully, this loan spell will see him return to Yorkshire as an even better player.
