Okay, so a week or two ago, I did a video on 7 pre-arranged summer transfers. The video went down pretty well, and a fair few people asked for a part two, which is what you’re watching right now. I won’t repeat the names of the players who featured in part one, in case any of you are yet to watch the video and want to either now or at the end of this video, but if you’re there thinking I’m surprised they didn’t mention x, y or z, there’s a decent chance they featured in that original video.
I should point out – for those of you who are yet to watch the first part of the video – that we’re just talking about officially confirmed transfers, not potential moves, gossip or rumours. So there’ll be no Diego Godin to Inter Milan or Hector Herrera to Atletico Madrid.
And once again, the seven players selected have been chosen at random as a mixture of high-profile and pretty obscure transfers, and they are included in no particular order.
Here are our 7 pre-arranged summer transfers part 2:
7. Jordan Jones – Rangers
We kick off this seven in the Scottish Premier League with soon-to-be Rangers midfielder Jordan Jones. An English-born Northern Irish international now playing in Scotland, Jones is a quick and tricky wide man. Rangers tried to sign the former Middlesbrough trainee from Kilmarnock in January, but after their £350,000 bid was knocked back, Jones agreed to join the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
6. Lucas Hernandez – Bayern Munich

The most expensive pre-arranged summer signing, and soon-to-be the second most expensive defender of all time, Lucas Hernandez will join Bayern Munich from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth a reported £68 million this summer. Quick, physical and defensively solid, Hernandez is equally comfortable at left-back or centre-back, and Bayern Munich should at least get plenty of service out of the World Cup winner, given that he is still only 23 years of age.
5. Scott Allan – Hibernian
We head back to Scotland for fifth place, but instead of a player heading for Glasgow, Scott Allan is departing the nation’s most populous city. Since joining Celtic from Hibernian in the summer of 2015 in a player plus cash deal, Allan has made just 17 appearances at Parkhead, going out on-loan to Rotherham, Dundee, and most recently Hibernian. He signed a pre-contract agreement to return to Easter Road on a permanent deal in January 2019, and the move will be completed in the summer.
4. Raul Jimenez & Leander Dendoncker – Wolves

It’s a dual entry in fourth place, with two players who will make their loan moves at Wolverhampton Wanderers permanent ones in the summer. Mexican centre-forward Raul Jimenez has been fantastic for Wolves this season, bagging 17 goals and earning many plaudits for his all-round play. He’ll become the club’s record signing in the summer in a move thought to be worth £30 million from Benfica.
Belgian international Dendoncker, meanwhile, arrived at Molineux on-loan from Anderlecht in January. He too has impressed in his half-season in the Midlands, and will soon sign a permanent deal with the club in a transfer worth a reported €15 million.
3. Emerson – Barcelona
We featured a couple of Real Madrid-bound Brazilian youngsters in the first part of this video, and anything Los Blancos can do, Barca can too. The Catalan giants announced the signing of 20-year-old Brazilian youth international Emerson in January, in a €12.7 million deal which will be completed at the end of the season. A seriously attack-minded right-back who loves to run with the ball, Emerson has spent this season on-loan with Real Betis, having made his name in Brazil with Atletico Mineiro.
2. Michael Rose – Coventry City

Well, I did tell you this seven was in no particular order, and in case you doubted me, we go from the Barca-bound Emerson in third to the uncapped Scottish centre-back Michael Rose in second. A product of the Aberdeen academy, Rose joined Ayr United in 2016. He has been promoted once and relegated once at Somerset Park, and he has the chance to leave the club on a high with promotion to the Scottish Premier League at the end of this season. A confident centre-back with a good range of passing, Rose signed a pre-contract agreement with Coventry City in January.
1. Kevin Mbabu – Wolfsburg
One that got away, perhaps, from a Newcastle United perspective, Kevin Mbabu joined the Magpies in 2013. He left for Young Boys, initially on-loan in 2016 and then on a permanent in 2017, and has really excelled ever since. A well-rounded defender who is quick, good on the ball and strong in the challenge, he has been a key man in a Young Boys side which has absolutely run rampage in the Swiss Super League these last two seasons. Having only recently turned 24, it was recently announced that Mbabu will leave Young Boys for Wolfsburg in the summer.
