Celtic’s attempts to sign Harry Wilson were blocked by Liverpool, and the player is thriving regardless.

Harry Wilson scored again for Liverpool’s under-23 team at the weekend to make it seven goals in six appearances this season.
The dazzling winger has already featured at international level for Wales and is carving out a big reputation.
Liverpool had no intention of letting Wilson leave, and so far the decision is paying off.

Wilson, now 20, could easily have felt frustrated after a potential route to first team football was blocked, but he has knuckled down and is producing the best football of his young career.
His performances are making him hard for manager Jurgen Klopp to ignore, and the Liverpool boss is able to get a close hand look at him in action and instant feedback from his staff.
Getting Wilson appears to have been a missed opportunity for Celtic at present, but their chances are not over, either in January or next summer if they are unable to sign Patrick Roberts permanently from Manchester City.
That would depend on Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who prefers not to loan out his top talents. So far his decision has had no ill effect on Wilson, and is reaping rewards.
