Well, Arsenal have officially signed Matt Turner.

Kind of.

The USA international is reported to by ESPN to be joining Arsenal in a £7.5 million deal this summer.

That report came out in late January but New England Revolution confirmed the transfer via their official website on Friday.

However, the Gunners themselves have yet to announce the summer arrival from their side.

Even still, it seems to be a done deal – especially after what the 27-year-old himself posted.

Turner updated his Instagram stories with an announcement about his transfer to Arsenal.

Here’s what he posted on social media:

Goodbye Leno?

Turner’s arrival will almost certainly indicate that Bernd Leno is leaving Arsenal.

The 29-year-old has slipped behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order this season and with the former Sheffield United goalkeeper looking in stunning form, Leno hasn’t got a hope of ousting him anytime soon.

The Germany international, linked to Newcastle United this past January, will likely be moved on during the summer to make room for his American counterpart.

Mikel Arteta is clearly a fan of Turner and it’ll be fascinating to see how a USA player fares in English football.
