Andraz Sporar probably isn’t regretting his decision to join Sporting Lisbon ahead of Celtic in January.
The Hoops were heavily linked with a move for the Slovenian hitman earlier this year, but he moved to Portugal in a £6 million deal.
And it’s fair to say that things are working out since he reportedly snubbed a move to Celtic [The Scotsman].
Sporar has netted four times in eight league appearances for Sporting and bagged another two last night.
The capital club drew 2-2 with Vitoria on their return to top-flight football following the global health crisis.
He opened the scoring after 18 minutes, before firing the visitors into a 2-1 lead before the hour mark.
Celtic fans haven’t seen much of Patryk Klimala, the striker signed as an alternative to Sporar.
The young Pole has only managed 100 minutes of football since arriving in Glasgow in January, and that haul is spread across three appearances.
That being said, Klimala is still only 21 and doesn’t turn 22 until August, so time is very much on his side here.
