Leeds United’s situation with Samu Saiz is unresolved.

Samu Saiz has not been pictured in any of Leeds’ training photos from their first few days back.

It’s unclear what’s going on with the Spaniard. At the moment it seems nothing is happening. And that’s a concern.

Leeds let Saiz leave mid-season and didn’t replace him.

They did so as personal favour to Saiz, but also on the proviso they could receive £6 million for his permanent exit, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported.

However Getafe did not have an obligation to pay this, and after Saiz scored just once, on the final day of the La Liga season, there is not much appetite for the club to do so.

There are questions over whether Saiz even wants to return to England, but he may have to for a few weeks with his future unresolved.

From a combination of bad luck and bad judgement, Leeds’ gamble on Saiz has backfired so far.

They missed out on his services in the second half of the season, and who knows how costly that could have been.

And there is no money in the bank for him yet either. This is a situation Leeds need to resolve, fast.
