The Algerian winger would be an excellent addition to the Southampton squad this summer.

Saints fans will be bracing themselves for another disappointing transfer window, with many of their star names facing uncertain futures at St Mary’s.

One of those players is Dusan Tadic, who has been linked with a move to West Ham United, according to the Evening Standard.

And if the Serbian is allowed to leave the south coast, Mauricio Pellegrino will obviously have to find a suitable replacement before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

With this in mind, a fantastic option for them could be Rachid Ghezzal, who is a free agent following his release from Lyon at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old would represent a fantastic signing on a free, considering what he could bring to St Mary’s. He was the subject of two separate bids from Everton and West Ham last summer, both in the region of £6.8 million according to the Daily Mail, which were subsequently rejected by Lyon.

The Algeria international can play anywhere along the front-line, and would offer Pellegrino the ability to play with greater variety in his tactical setup.

Ghezzal possesses bundles of pace, and the direct manner in which he plays the game would add a certain level of potency to the Saints’ attack.

And with his availability on a free, Southampton cannot go wrong in bringing him to the south coast this summer.
