The Bolton Wanderers youngster is set to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium according to reports.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are close to completing a move for Bolton Wanderers youngster Rob Holding.
The defender reportedly had a medical with the Gunners on Monday, with just personal terms left to be agreed ahead of his move.

He was a bright spot in a dark season for the Trotters, as they dropped out of the Championship into League One.
He has only played in 30 first-team games for them, 26 of which came in the league last year.

Arsenal were clearly impressed by what they saw though, and these stats show just how well he performed last season.
| Position | Team | Won Tackle per Game | Interception Won per Game | Duel Won per Game | Aerial Won per Game | Ball Recovery per Game | Effective Clearance per Game | Accurate Pass per Game | Pass Success | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rob Holding | DF | Bolton | 0.92 | 3.23 | 4.73 | 2.5 | 5.31 | 2.69 | 23.23 | 67% | 26 |
| League Average | – | – | 0.9 | 1.24 | 4.01 | 1.55 | 4.68 | 1.25 | 21.9 | 73% | 22.15 |
He managed 0.9 tackles won per game last season, as well as 3.2 interceptions, both of which were above the league average.
He continued that when it came to defensive duels won, aerial duels won, ball recoveries and effective clearances.
Holding was also above the league average for accurate passes per game too with 23.2 per game, although his overall pass success rate was below.
Nonetheless, interesting stats from Holding, who will be hoping to develop into a first-team star at Arsenal in future if he does arrive as expected.
