Tottenham are reported admirers of Adrien Rabiot. Do they now have a new chance?

Barcelona signed an agreement with Ajax this week to sign midfielder Frenkie De Jong for £65 million, BBC Sport reported.
This has the potential to throw Tottenham a lifeline in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Mail reported earlier this month that Rabiot was considering a switch to Tottenham, but Barcelona was his preference.
Rabiot’s PSG contract is set to expire at the end of the current season and he has no current plans to renew.
The France international’s prospects of a move to Barcelona look less certain, with De Jong now signed up to arrive in the summer.
Barcelona’s midfield is stacked. In their squad at present is veteran Sergio Busquets, Brazilian midfielder Arthur, and top academy prospects Riqui Puig and Carles Alena.
Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Philippe Coutinho and Rafinha all add to the competition for midfield place with De Jong, as would Kevin Prince-Boateng if his surprise loan is made permanent.

Rabiot would be jumping from a crowded situation at PSG to an even more difficult task at Barcelona.
Tottenham need to reach out and sell Rabiot on a move with the promise of regular football, at a club competing for league titles and in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
With Mousa Dembele sold, Rabiot would be an ideal replacement at Tottenham, and their path to signing him may be a little simpler now.
