Jermain Defoe has admitted on TalkSPORT that he is keen to stay at Rangers for another season.
Defoe’s time at Ibrox is currently due to come to an end in the summer, as the Rangers striker has just a matter of months left on his contract.
However, Defoe is keen to extend his time at the club – as he wants to play in front of the Rangers fans again.
“I’ve had this discussion with a few senior lads at the club, you speak about what you’re doing,” the £65,000-a-week (Spotrac) striker said.
“The big thing for me, this season has been so different with no fans in the stadium. If any player was thinking of finishing, to play a season without fans it’s like training games.
“It would be hard to finish with no fans. I’ll listen to my body as well and see how I feel.
“This season, I’ve only had a couple of injuries, nothing major. I’m quite relaxed about it. I want to play another season in front of the fans.
“This season has been special, I don’t know how I’ll top that. Just a personal one to finish in front of the fans.”

Whether Defoe will be offered new terms at Rangers remains to be seen.
The 38-year-old is reaching the twilight of his career now, but he has still proven a useful option this season for Steven Gerrard’s men.
Defoe has hit four goals in 14 games for Rangers this term, with most these appearances coming off the bench.
Defoe has also impressed off the field, as he has been an excellent influence on Rangers’ younger players.
