Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli failed to do much of note against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli’s form has been largely underwhelming so far this season, and it did not show any improvement on Sunday.
The Italy international played for the entire 90 minutes of the Reds’ Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road, but the 24-year-old was mostly quiet and failed to break his duck in the league for Liverpool.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, the former Manchester City striker took seven shots, of which only two were on target. He also missed a big chance when all he had to do was just place the ball into the net from a good position with no one closing in on him.
| Position | Team | Chances created | Total Shots | Shots on Target | Big Chance Missed | Total Pass | Accurate Pass | Touches | Successful Final Third Passes | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mario Balotelli | FW | Liverpool | 1 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 17 | 11 | 36 | 5 | 90 |
The stats above sum up just how disappointing Balotelli was against QPR. Despite ending up on the winning team, the former AC Milan striker could hardly revel and boast about his contribution in the narrow 3-2 victory.
Balotelli has the talent and the experience of playing in the Premier League, but it is just not happening for him at the moment. The former Inter Milan star needs to step up his game, and step up soon.
