Leeds United were linked to Alvaro Negredo this summer.

Valencia’s £6.4 million valuation put Leeds off, and perhaps rightly so considering the striker is 32.
Negredo ended up signing for Turkish side Besiktas, and may at this stage be wishing the move to Leeds came off instead.

The Spaniard has played just 118 minutes of football so far in the Turkish Super Lig, and is yet to score.
This has comprised of one start and four appearances as a substitute.
It is easy to see why the former Middlesbrough forward was happy to move to Besiktas, to play top flight football, but dropping into the Championship might have been best for him.

Negredo need only look at the start Pierre-Michel Lasogga has made at Leeds, appearing to rejuvenate his flagging career.
The Hamburg loanee had struggled for goals back in Germany but appears a player reborn at Leeds.
Negredo could have been the striker leading the line if the clubs had come to an agreement, instead of being a benchwarmer in Turkey.
By signing the younger player, and on a loan deal instead of for a big fee, Leeds should be glad they made the right decision.
