West Ham United thought they had landed a bargain last summer in Albian Ajeti, but it just hasn’t worked out for him in East London.
Ajeti’s record at Basel in his native Switzerland was outstanding. In the 2018-19 season, Ajeti bagged 21 goals and 11 assists in 43 games, taking his total tally for the club to 43 goals and 21 assists in 96 games.
West Ham pounced to sign him for just £8million, adding him as backup for Sebastien Haller up top – but he has barely been seen.
Ajeti hasn’t started a single Premier League game for West Ham, and has played just four minutes since football returned last month.
David Moyes seemingly doesn’t fancy Ajeti, and the 23-year-old could move on this summer. There is already interest, with Celtic keen.
Sky Sports claim that Celtic have already made contact with the Hammers about a potential move, which would likely be a loan.

Celtic are looking for another striker to support Odsonne Edouard and Patryk Klimala, with Ajeti seemingly one of the top targets on Neil Lennon’s radar.
West Ham fans have been reacting to the rumour, believing that Celtic would be a good move for him in order to score goals and get some confidence.
Many just want this to be a loan deal, as they think Ajeti could eventually become a first-team player at West Ham in the future.
