According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are back in talks with Wigan Athletic over a potential deal for Alfie Devine.

The Telegraph reported last week that Tottenham had made a first bid for Devine, but the offer had been rejected.

That report stated that Spurs had offered a deal for both Devine and Jensen Weir, though he now looks set to join Brighton and Hove Albion instead.

Tottenham have now allegedly returned to the negotiating table, with talks now centred around a deal worth £500,000 for Devine.

Devine, 15, is a former Liverpool youngster who has now impressed at Wigan, notably in their 2-0 FA Youth Cup win over Spurs earlier this year.

Tottenham may well have spotted him then, and Devine has even played for Wigan’s Under-23’s having made rapid progress.

Wigan are in financial trouble and set to enter administration, so they need to offload players to raise funds – and Spurs are looking to pounce.

Whilst Weir is heading to Brighton, Tottenham could still land a double deal. They want Wigan attacker Joe Gelhardt too, even if talks for now have centred around Devine.

At just 15, Devine would be one for the future at Tottenham, and they could see him as an absolute bargain if they can get him for £500,000.
