Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury was unlucky to be on the losing side against Hull.

Nottingham Forest did not get the points their performance deserved at the weekend against Hull City, in particular midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The former England under-21 international started on the right of a midfield three, and was unlucky to end up on the losing side.

He created six goalscoring chances, along with teammate Ryan Mendes. The pair’s creativity saw them only outdone by Charlton’s Johann Gudmundsson, when compared to the rest of the Championship over the course of the weekend.

Neither Nelson Oliveira nor Chris O’Grady could find the breakthrough for Forest despite the chances being created, and Hull escaped from the City Ground with a 1-0 win through an Abel Hernandez strike.

Lansbury was not just effective from an attacking perspective, battling away to get his side back into the game.

He was one of just two midfielders, and four players in total, to win five tackles in the Championship at the weekend.

If Lansbury and his teammates continue to perform at a high level, Forest’s luck will surely turn. It’s not ideal to head into the international break with the feeling of frustration which will be there after the weekend’s loss, but this can be used as a motivating factor to really kick on when the Championship resumes.
