Jamie Carragher has claimed that Liverpool would win ‘6-1 over two legs’, if they met Manchester United in the next round of the Champions League, as they posted on Instagram.

Liverpool are already in the hat for Friday’s quarter-final Champions League draw and Man United will be hoping to join them.

After recording a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in Spain, Ralf Rangnick and his players are now hoping to finish off the job at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

If that happens, then they have the chance to draw the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

And it seems as though both Carragher and Neville would like a historical Champions League meeting between the two rivals.

This is what the duo had to say about two of their former sides possibly meeting one another in the quarter-finals.

“You know what I would absolutely love is for Man United to play Liverpool in the next round of the Champions League,” said Neville. “And we would knock you out.”

Carragher responded: “I would love it. I reckon that could be 6-1 over two legs.”

GN: “I am not sure.”

JC: “Honestly, we would absolutely murder you. We will get Man United in the next round, hopefully.”

Well, the last time Man United locked horns with Liverpool, they got absolutely smoked, so perhaps it wouldn’t be a great idea if their two names were pitted with one another.

But, at the end of the day, when you have a player the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo in your ranks, then you will feel anything is possible.

The 37-year-old is perhaps the greatest ever player to have graced the Champions League stage and there is no one more lethal than him in this competition.

But, before United or Liverpool fans can dream of a possible meeting between the two, the Manchester-based club have to do the job against Diego Simeone’s men tonight.
