Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after ESPN linked them with a move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
Interestingly, Spurs fans are buzzing at the prospect of signing Lingard. This time last year it would perhaps have been seen as a bad move, but it seems as though the midfielder’s prolific loan spell at West Ham has changed the wider public perception of the 28-year-old’s abilities.
Tottenham supporters are now very excited about the prospect of Lingard coming to north London, with many claiming that he’d be an upgrade on Dele Alli.
Lingard is certainly a talented footballer and a move to Spurs would surely appeal to him as he continues his quest to make the England squad for the 2022 World Cup.
It remains to be seen whether or not Spurs can win the race for Lingard’s signature, but if Fabio Paratici can pull this off it would certainly be a very welcomed signing.
