Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, Leeds United, Chelsea, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion are all prominently featured in our early morning round-up of stories.

Two clubs made contact with the Rangers target, Bongani Zungu, only to learn that he had already agreed personal terms ahead of a move to Ibrox, according to Kickoff.
The website names Yeni Malatyaspor and Olympiacos as the pair in question – adding that Zungu will arrive at Rangers on Monday evening ‘for a routine medical before signing a deal for a season-long loan, after which his contract will expire and available to join on a free transfer’.
Sticking with Rangers, the young Ibrox defender Danny Finlayson has been invited to train with St Mirren, according to The Scottish Sun.
Finlayson has been playing for Rangers’ American affiliate club, Orange County SC.
But it is claimed he could now link up with St Mirren’s academy side on an initial loan deal, with a view to a permanent move from Ibrox.

Moving south of the border, Leeds United want to sign the forgotten Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman, according to Ghanasoccernet.
The website claims the Whites have contacted both Rahman’s representatives and Chelsea about a deadline day move, which could be either temporary or permanent.

On the subject of Leeds, Michael Cuisance has passed his Marseille medical just days after he allegedly failed one at Elland Road, according to RMC.
The Bayern Munich midfielder is expected to join Marseille on an initial loan deal.

And finally, the Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion target Habib Diallo is joining Strasbourg, according to Foot Senegal.
But the Metz striker is said to have told the website that he is being ‘forced to do so by ‘the leaders’ of his current employers, who ‘have not taken into account my choice’.
The Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder dismissed reports linking his side with Diallo after signing Rhian Brewster, although a new centre forward continues to elude West Brom.
