As a result of his stunning form for Brentford this season, Ivan Toney has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League.

The Athletic revealed on Sunday that Everton plan to bid for the 25-year-old this summer.

Elsewhere, TEAMtalk claimed that Leeds will battle Arsenal for the Brentford No.17’s signature once the season has ended.

Furthermore, Peterborough’s Director of Football Barry Fry told the BBC that David Sullivan wants to bring Toney to West Ham.

Now, this barrage of interest comes as no surprise whatsoever.

Incredibly, Toney has scored 30 goals in 44 Championship appearances this season, while also impressively recording ten assists.

40 goal involvements in 44 games is one of the best individual campaigns anyone has ever had in England’s second tier, if not the best.

On that note, it’s no surprise that his manager, Thomas Frank, likened him to Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.

Speaking in March when his £5 million signing was on 26 goals and nine assists, the Dane said it’s normally ‘only Harry Kane’ who can register such brilliant figures.

The Daily Mail quote him as saying: “Now it’s 26 goals in the league, nine assists – crazy numbers in this league. It has also shown his all-round game because normally it’s only Harry Kane who can do those numbers.”

We really are lost for words as to how prolific Toney has been this season.

He looks far too good for the Championship, and we fully expect to see him in the Premier League next term, with or without Brentford.
