Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Christopher Nkunku should former Emirates Stadium star Serge Gnabry depart the Bundesliga side.

According to Sport1, the Bavarian giants are considering a move for the French international if Bayern are unable to tie Gnabry down to a new contract, with the attacking superstar yet to pen fresh terms with the reigning German champions.

As per the report, Nkunku has been identified as a potential replacement for Bayern, with RB Leipzig valuing their star player at €70m (£59m) after an outstanding season with the east German club, with his form catching the eyes of both Arsenal and Liverpool.

ESPN report that the Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on the attacking midfielder, who this season has scored a staggering 26 goals and assisted 15 in all competitions for Leipzig, and now, Bayern are looking to join the hunting pack.

With reports circulating that Gnabry, who Arsene Wenger sold from Arsenal, could be on the move this summer, Nkunku could be a sensible replacement for Bayern and a very on-brand move from the Bundesliga titans.

After all, Bayern are the masters of plucking the best German top-flight players for themselves, with the club signing both Leipzig’s captain and star defender last summer in Marcel Sabitzer and Dayot Upamecano. And now Nkunku is on their radar.

Bayern’s pull on Bundesliga players is second-to-none, and for Arsenal and Liverpool, their interest in Nkunku could be a major worry for either Premier League side’s intent on signing the French international this summer.

Indeed, Bayern have the finances to match Leipzig’s demands for Nkunku, and playing for the German giants could be an appealing prospect for the 24-year-old despite strong interest from Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the transfer window.
