A hattrick from Lionel Messi, his sixth in the competition, as well as goals from Luis Suarez, Neymar and Andres Iniesta saw them to victory.
A scoreline such as that suggests the Celtic defence put in a shambolic performance, but actually one man, debutant Gamboa, was quite impressive.
| Match | Won Tackle | Interception Won | Duel Won | Aerial Won | Ball Recovery | Accurate Pass | Passing Accuracy | Touches | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cristian Gamboa | Barcelona vs Celtic | 3 | 5 | 7 | 1 | 7 | 25 | 78% | 57 |
He managed 57 touches in total, the second most of any Hoops player, with just one of those proving to be unsuccessful.
Defensively he managed to win three tackles, five interceptions and posted seven ball recoveries.
Celtic players look dejected
He also managed to win seven defensive duels and one aerial duel throughout the game.
His passing was also relatively solid as he managed 25 accurate passes in total and enjoyed an overall pass success rate of 78% in a solid if ultimately disappoint debut for him.
