Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 in the North London derby on Sunday.
Despite giving away a penalty, Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny put in a solid performance in his side’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The Gunners hosted their rivals at the Emirates Stadium in Sunday’s early kick-off looking to continue their strong start to the season.

They were able to take the lead in the game when Kevin Wimmer headed into his own net but were pegged back when Harry Kane fired home a penalty.
In truth, the defences were on top throughout as both sides were limited to just five shots on target between them.
| Match | Won Tackle | Interception Won | Duel Won | Aerial Won | Ball Recovery | Accurate Pass | Passing Accuracy | Touches | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laurent Koscielny | Arsenal vs Tottenham | 3 | 4 | 9 | 5 | 9 | 30 | 73% | 57 | 90 |
The key to Arsenal’s defensive solidity was Koscielny who, despite giving away the penalty, actually put in a solid display.
He managed 57 touches throughout the game, with all of those proving to be successful. Defensively he was a rock, winning three tackles and four interceptions in total.

He won nine defensive duels and five aerial duels, the most managed by any Arsenal player in the game. He also posted nine ball recoveries, the second most in the game.
His passing was also solid as he registered 30 accurate passes and managed an overall passing accuracy of 75%.
Unfortunately giving away the penalty is likely to blemish the Frenchman’s display but a closer look shows he is deserving of praise.
