Well, it wasn’t a great performance for one reported Liverpool target on Sunday.
Nicolo Barella started for Italy in last night’s Euro 2020 final win over England at Wembley.
But the midfielder – linked with a £56 million move to Liverpool – struggled in a big way to impose himself on the game.
The likes of Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice bossed him in the individual stakes in midfield and Roberto Mancini took him off early in the second half.
Sky Sports News gave the player a 4/10 rating and were particularly scathing about his ‘anonymous’ display during the first 45 minutes.
By virtue of the fact that Mancini subbed him off on 54 minutes, you could argue that the Italy boss felt the same.

Having said that, this won’t affect Liverpool’s reported desire to sign him one iota.
Jurgen Klopp is still in dire need of another midfielder after losing Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer earlier in the summer.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Anfield side have also made contact with the Inter Milan star, who won a Serie A title this past season.
And if they’re interested to the point of making official contact then it’s safe to say that a quiet night at the office against the Three Lions isn’t going to deter Liverpool all that much.
