Kevin de Bruyne thinks that Leeds United start to leave spaces to exploit after the first half hour, according to comments made on MatchDay Live Extra.

The Wolves podcast was interviewing to Leander Dendoncker, who had been away with De Bruyne on international duty earlier this month.

With Wolves having to play against Leeds two days ago, Dendoncker was keen to get the £55 million attacking midfielder’s (BBC Sport) advice on how to beat Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

And while De Bruyne was generally complimentary about Leeds, he did suggest that they had a weakness to his international teammate.

“They (Manchester City) played them before the international break and Kevin De Bruyne told me that it will be very hard because they go man to man but he also said that after 30 minutes they leave spaces,” Dendoncker revealed.

“I think that’s what you could see. I know the first half wasn’t really good from our side because we were looking how to find the spaces, how to deal with them.

“In the second half we managed it way better. To get three points here is really difficult and I don’t think a lot of teams will do it.”

De Bruyne called the game almost perfectly, as Wolves beat Leeds 1-0 on Monday evening.

The Whites started the match well on top, but failed to score and they were eventually punished.

Wolves really started to get a foothold in the contest as the game progressed, and a deflected strike from Raul Jimenez ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.

When Leeds took on De Bruyne’s City team earlier this season the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
