According to Defensa Central, Arsenal are very interested in signing Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic as Mikel Arteta hunts for a new striker.
What’s the story?
Well, Alexandre Lacazette’s contract expires in June, and Football London believe he will definitely be leaving Arsenal.
As a result, it seems Edu and Arteta have identified Jovic as a potential replacement for the Frenchman.
Real Madrid paid €65m (£54.9m) to sign the Serbia international, although he has seriously struggled to impose himself in Spain.
Jovic has netted just two goals in 38 appearances for the Spanish giants, although that hasn’t put Arsenal off.
The 23-year-old put his name up in lights after starring for Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 40 goals in 93 appearances.
What can Luka Jovic bring to Arsenal?

He may be struggling at Real Madrid, although plenty of good things have been said about Jovic, and he’s still young enough to turn things around.
Omar Mascarell, a former teammate of Jovic at Eintracht Frankfurt, said the Serbian is actually better than Luis Suarez.
Mascarell added the Arsenal target is also ‘stronger’ in the air than Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
The Bundesliga’s official website quote him as saying: “I would say he’s like Luis Suarez, but with a lot more quality. You can compare them (Jovic and Benzema), they hold up the ball well, but I see Jovic as being stronger in the air.”

Both Suarez and Benzema are among the best strikers on the planet, so if Jovic is in any way comparable to them, that in itself is impressive.
Another forward is certainly needed at Arsenal, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is 32 and nearing the end of his best years.
Keep an eye on this saga, as Jovic looks almost certain to pursue another avenue and escape his nightmarish spell in Madrid.
