Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter believe that there’s an opportunity for a swap deal opening up.
In January, Spurs loaned Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton and Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that the young defender wants to stay at St Mary’s to finish out the season, once it’s resumed.
Interestingly, Tottenham have been linked with Saints star Pierre Emile Hojberg.
According to The Mirror [March 6, page 62], the North Londoners are keen on signing the Danish midfielder, who moved to the South Coast in 2016 for £12.8 million [BBC Sport].
And Tottenham supporters believe that there’s a chance to do a swap deal, Walker-Peters for Hojberg.
Here’s how they reacted to their player’s reported stance on Twitter:
Walker-Peters has been in and around Tottenham’s senior side for a few years but only managed 12 Premier League appearances before being loaned to the Saints.
At 23, he needs to be playing regularly and with Spurs being a much better side, obviously his first-team prospects are stronger at St Mary’s than North London.
