Houssem Aouar has been very coy over his future, after claims that Arsenal have made a bid for him, through his comments to L’Equipe.
The French paper claimed last week that Arsenal had already submitted an offer for the Lyon midfielder, which didn’t quite meet the Ligue 1 side’s asking price.
Mikel Arteta is still thought to be interested in signing the central midfielder, as Arsenal eye up additions to strengthen in the middle of the park.
But Aouar was giving nothing away when quizzed over whether he would be leaving Lyon this summer.
“I haven’t left yet. So I haven’t asked this question,” he said when asked whether it would be hard to leave Lyon without saying goodbye to the fans in the stadium.
“That one is very tough (laughs). I want us to start the league well,” he added, when questioned on what he wanted ahead of the new campaign.

If Aouar was brought to Arsenal he undoubtedly would be an exciting capture for Arteta’s side.
Aouar has been outstanding at Lyon over a number of seasons, and is one of the most technically efficient players in France.
He could well form an excellent partnership with Granit Xhaka if he was brought to Arsenal, but his £54 million asking price (L’Equipe) could be difficult for the North London side to pay.
