Is Alessandro Bastoni joining Tottenham Hotspur? Well that’s definitely what the speculation is suggesting.

According to The Times, Spurs boss Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the Inter Milan defender to North London during the summer transfer window.

That report from last weekend added that Tottenham will have to pay around £54 million to sign the 23-year-old Italy international.

In an age of social media, transfer speculation can be given enormous credibility based around players’ Twitter and Instagram activity at the time of the rumour.

And given what Bastoni has seemingly done on Instagram, well a switch to the Lilywhites definitely seems a little more plausible.

That’s because the young centre-back has just followed Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso, two Tottenham players.

So, is Alessandro Bastoni joining Tottenham Hotspur?

Well that remains to be seen.

But the fact that he has began following two Spurs players – two Argentina players who started the 3-0 win over Bastoni’s Italy in midweek, to boot – certainly adds a layer of credibility to the speculation, even if it is only rumours at this stage in the game.

However, it’s also worth pointing out that Tottenham boss Conte will more than likely be signing central defenders this summer.

So the rumours, the Italian manager’s need for players of Bastoni’s position, and his recent Instagram actions, all point to a potential move to Hotspur Way for sure.
