The Aston Villa star could make a big statement this weekend.

Aston Villa’s John McGinn must have to pinch himself on a regular basis.
It’s been exactly 12 months since the Scotland midfielder joined the Villans from Hibernian.
Fast forward a year and now the 24-year-old is gearing up to represent Aston Villa on their Premier League return away to Tottenham on Saturday.
He has already come very far in a short space of time, but he’ll be determined to show how far he can still go with a big statement against the Londoners and, more specifically, Tanguy Ndombele.
McGinn and the £63 million signing [Sky Sports] could face off against one another in midfield this weekend and what a chance for the former Hibs star to show he’s the real deal.
Aston Villa slapped a £50 million price-tag on him earlier this summer to stave off interest from Manchester United [The Sun], a laughable amount considering that he has never kicked a ball in the Premier League.
But he will be determined to prove that he is worth that amount with a solid first season in England’s top flight.
And a big performance against against Tottenahm’s record signing set the tone for an exciting first year in the big time. McGinn has come a long way, but he could yet go further.
