Burnley fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Newcastle want to sign James Tarkowski.
The new era at Newcastle United has begun and it seems as though Burnley’s hard-hitting defender could be one of the first names on the club’s big-money wishlist, according to the Telegraph.
Newcastle aren’t going to attract those players in the Champions League yet, because of their current standing.
But it seems as though they are heading down a road of bringing in tried and tested Premier League performers – and Tarkowski fits that bill, no doubt.
Even though Sean Dyche might end up losing such a key player, the Burnley fans are backing the idea to sell one of their star defenders.
At the age of 28, Tarkowski is at the peak of his powers and he is in the final year of his contract at Turf Moor.
That was pointed out by the Burnley faithful, who think it might be time to cash in on the Englishman.
One thing is for sure, Tarkowski does seem like a realistic January capture by the North East club and someone who would elevate Newcastle’s backline.
He has brief experience with England, and a move to a Newcastle team now looking to surge its way forward, might just help him earn a few more caps.
And if he does move then he walks straight into Steve Bruce’s backline.
