With the World Cup on the horizon in November, Premier League sides – including Everton, Arsenal and Leeds – are due to be affected.

The mid-season tournament will disrupt domestic football until December 18th, but in Richarlison’s case, the World Cup should already be playing on his mind.

What’s the story?

Well, we believe the £50m Everton man needs to be wary of how Arsenal and Leeds perform before November, with Gabriel Martinelli and Raphinha in their ranks.

With all due respect, Richarlison somehow starts regularly for Brazil, despite the fact he has struggled for goals at Everton.

Last season, the 24-year-old only scored seven goals in 34 Premier League appearances, while he’s only netted four in 20 league outings this season.

Contrastingly, Raphinha is on nine Premier League goals for the season, whereas Martinelli has five, but is shining for Arsenal with his tireless displays.

Tite can choose from the likes of Neymar, Antony, Raphinha, Martinelli, Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Barbosa, Gabriel Jesus, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Rodrygo Goes and Matheus Cunha, so Richarlison really needs to up his game.

The likes of Vinicius Junior and Neymar are certainties to make the squad, so if Martinelli and Raphinha continue to impress for Arsenal and Leeds, Richarlison may be axed by Tite.

World Cup axe would upset Richarlison greatly

The ex-Watford man is always going on about how much he loves being involved in the Brazil squad, so missing out on the World Cup would break his heart.

As quoted by Globo Esporte, he even said he’d live on international duty if he could!

Of course, Tite is the man in charge, but if Martinelli and Raphinha continue to outdo Richarlison in the Premier League, they could make the 60-year-old’s mind up for him.

To put it simply, Richarlison isn’t doing enough for Everton to warrant a place in the starting XI ahead of some world class names.

Unless he steps things up for Everton, he could be watching from the Championship as others live out his dream.
