Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might have just dropped a big hint about his interest over joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Southampton star is, according to The Mirror [March 6, page 62], on Spurs’ radar over a switch to North London.
And thanks to the player’s Twitter activity, he may have indicated that he’s interested in a move to Tottenham.
That’s because the 24-year-old has seemingly ‘liked’ a post on Twitter about a transfer to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Here’s a screenshot of the ‘like’.
Hojbjerg, who earns £50,000 per week at Southampton, has since unliked the post and it remains to be seen whether he accidentally liked it in the first place, or if he erased the evidence in fear of stoking the fires in regards to the speculation.
We know at least that he’s aware of the speculation. Here’s what he said earlier in May: “It’s a big club and I also think Christian Eriksen has positive memories from there. It would be a lie to say I hadn’t read [about the speculation] [BT]
If we’re honest, Tottenham is a huge upgrade on the Saints and therefore it’s plausible that he genuinely does want a move to the Lilywhites, but time will tell.
