West Ham United’s Mark Noble has joked that he could never have moved to Tottenham Hotspur on the Peter Crouch podcast.
Crouch was discussing the reasons behind why he felt Harry Kane may want to stay at Tottenham, like Noble has at West Ham.
Noble has spent his entire career with the Hammers, so knows the value of loyalty.
And the £50,000-a-week midfielder (Spotrac) admits that the thought of joining Tottenham was never one which would have crossed his mind due to the repercussions, as Crouch discussed Kane’s future.
“This is my point with Harry Kane and the chat that he might move on,” Crouch began.
“It’s like, yeah, but if he does win something with Tottenham, it just means more. It’s going to mean more to him than going to Manchester City or Manchester United.
“Let’s be honest, Nobes is going to be at West Ham all his life. If he wants a job there, he’s got it.

“If he’d have left and gone to, say, Tottenham – for instance, five years ago..
“I wouldn’t be able to walk down the street.” Noble interjected, laughing.
“That’s what I mean, it tarnishes your West Ham career.”
Crouch and Noble’s argument is one which many Tottenham fans will surely agree with.
Kane is unlikely to damage his Tottenham reputation by leaving too much, unless he joins a London rival, but there is a value to him staying that is often overlooked.
It is always stressed that Kane needs to be winning trophies, and the striker has suggested that is what he wants to do, but he could make himself arguably the biggest legend in Tottenham history if he does stick around.
Noble certainly will go down in West Ham folklore, with the central midfielder set to play his last season before retirement next year.
