Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Trevoh Chalobah had the chance to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea for Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Nottingham Forest were determined to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Premier League rivals Chelsea on summer transfer deadline day.
Forest had a deal with Chelsea agreed for over £25 million.
However, Chalobah did not want to move to Forest.
The 24-year-old, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, rejected a potential move to the City Ground and decided to stay at Chelsea, according to Romano.
The Englishman was close to a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but it collapsed.
Trevoh Chalobah could struggle at Chelsea now
In our view, Trevoh Chalobah is unlikely to get much playing time for Chelsea in the coming weeks and months.
The £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) has not made a single appearance for the Blues this season.

It is hard to see Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino use the 24-year-old much.
Chalobah has made 45 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 24-year-old has scored three goals, given one assist, and kept 13 clean sheets in those games.
We should not be surprised if Chalobah leaves Chelsea in the January transfer window.
