Everton forward Neal Maupay is reportedly about to leave for Brentford.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton forward Neal Maupay is on the verge of joining Premier League rivals Brentford on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Maupay is now going to undergo a medical at Brentford before signing a loan deal with his former club.

Brentford are keen on signing a forward player today because of the current ban on Ivan Toney that will see him unavailable until January 2024.

Maupay was on the books of Brentford from 2017 until 2019 before he moved to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Everton could be making a mistake with potential Neal Maupay exit

We do not think that Everton should let Neal Maupay leave today.

It could prove to be a big mistake.

While Maupay has not done well for Everton, the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) 27-year-old is still a very good player.

After all, Brentford are keen on signing him, and the Bees would not sign a player they did not think would be a success.

The Frenchman is not a striker, and Everton manager Sean Dyche needs to play him in his best position and to his strengths.

Everton struggled for goals last season and are struggling to find the back of the net this campaign as well.

Maupay is a player who can facilitate scoring goals.

The Frenchman has made 131 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The forward has scored 27 goals and given seven assists in those games.
