Kevin Campbell has claimed that Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, would be worth less than Jack Grealish and his market value would be between ‘£50-70 million’, as he told the Highbury Squad.

The former Arsenal striker thinks that there is no chance that the Liverpool assist machine is worth ‘£90 million’.

In the summer, Manchester City broke the bank once more by paying a British transfer fee of £100 million for Grealish.

The Premier League champions activated a clause in the playmaker’s contract at Villa Park.

Despite being regarded as possibly the best fullback in the world right now and one of the best attacking brains in the world.

Campbell still doesn’t think Alexander-Arnold is worth near the £100 million mark and feels Ashley Cole would go for a similar amount if he was playing today.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold is probably worth £50, 60 or £70 million,” said Campbell. “He’s a right-back.

“I just think for fullbacks there is a window. £50-70 million for fullbacks.

On Ashley Cole in his prime in today’s market: “He would be going for £50-70 million. Teams don’t overpay for fullbacks. Pep Guardiola, after his first season, went and bought three fullbacks for £100 odd million.

On TAA being worth £90m and Grealish going for £100m: “Naah, £90 million?! They paid £52 million (Man City for Kyle Walker). £50-60m for Diaz and he is a centre-back.”

Alexander-Arnold may well be a defender by nature, but his performances and numbers tell a completely different story.

As the Englishman has proved all season long, his passing ability and range are skills you would expect one of the world’s best playmakers to have in their locker.

Added with that, the Liverpool academy product is becoming better and better from dead-ball situations.

Over the course of the season, Alexander-Arnold has played 26 matches in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying an incredible 16 assists (transfermarkt).
