Leeds loanee Luke Murphy had a better weekend than any of the club’s midfielders.

It was a poor weekend for Leeds United as they slipped to a third successive defeat, this time beaten 1-0 at home to Reading.
The midfield failed to click, with Eunan O’Kane and Kalvin Phillips struggling to reproduce their early season form.

One Leeds midfielder did have a fine weekend, but unfortunately he was playing for Burton Albion.
Loanee Luke Murphy put in a solid display for Burton as they ground out a result away to Bristol City, holding the hosts to a 0-0 draw.
He made more tackles and more interceptions than any Leeds players did in their defeat, including O’Kane and Phillips.
| Position | Team | Tackles | Interceptions | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luke Murphy | MF | Burton Albion | 5 | 4 |
| Eunan O’Kane | MF | Leeds | 4 | 0 |
| Kalvin Phillips | MF | Leeds | 3 | 1 |
Leeds have other options in midfield, but manager Thomas Christiansen seems reluctant to use them.
Ronaldo Vieira cannot get a look in at present, while summer signing Mateusz Klich has flopped so far and failed to prove himself.
If neither Vieira or Klich can win Christiansen over during the coming weeks, the Leeds manager might well wonder whether he got rid of a proven Championship player like Murphy too soon.
