The Hammers have to look to keep these men before the new season begins.
West Ham United’s Pedro Obiang in action with Watford’s Etienne Capoue
Pedro Obiang
The Spanish midfielder is the general of the side, but has a touch of class to his game too. Still only 24, Obiang keeps the side ticking over, and, according to David Gold, is West Ham’s unsung hero this season.
Manuel Lanzini
In the absence of Payet, Lanzini is West Ham’s new talisman. The Argentine playmaker is the source of all creativity for the Hammers, and is also more than able to come up with a long range strike or two.
Sofiane Feghouli
Feghouli has taken a while to settle into English football, but is now a pest for defences around the country. His work rate, dead ball ability and persistence make him a fan favourite – his performance in the defeat against Bournemouth showcased how much he can do for the team.
Andy Carroll
Though it must be stressed that Slaven Bilic should have a Plan B, Plan A must include Andy Carroll. When fit, he is an asset to any side, always opening up the possibility of a goal or assist. Even if they only have him match fit for half of the season, it’ll be worth it.
Michail Antonio
Is he a striker, winger or full-back? Whatever his position, Antonio is a unique talent that West Ham cannot afford to lose. His endless energy, marauding runs and keen eye for goal have allowed him to be versatile and deadly throughout the season, and is certainly one of the first names on the teamsheet.
