Nottingham Forest youngster Virgil Gomis scored again last night for the under-23s.

In front of watching first team boss Aitor Karanka, Gomis scored at the City Ground as Forest beat Cardiff 2-0.

Gomis has now scored five goals in as many games for Forest’s under-23s to start the season.

He commented on Twitter afterwards to express his opinion that he was happy to get the win but felt he could have done a lot better.

Gomis has been prolific for Forest’s academy for the past two seasons and hopes to eventually get his chance to shine at first team level.

It won’t be easy with Forest’s investment at first team level this summer.

Karanka’s attendance should offer him some hope that his efforts will eventually lead to opportunity.
